The 3rd press conference by Gifu University President

The 3rd press conference by the University President was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

At the press conference, Gifu University President Hisataka Moriwaki presented an overview of the University's efforts toward internationalization and educational approaches related to "Future Visions from the 3rd Period Onward". As one of the achievements, President Moriwaki brought up the news that the Medical Education Development Center (MEDC) received re-accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Following the presentation, Dr. Yasuyuki Suzuki, Director of MEDC, detailed that MEDC became re-accredited as the sole Collaboration Center for Medical Education in Japan by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
MEDC was established in 2001 and was accredited as the Collaboration Center for Medical Education in 2010. MEDC has been held seminars more than 50 times and a total of more than 6,000 people participated in the seminars. Dr. Suzuki mentioned that the recognition of the seminars could lead to re-accreditation of the center.
The period of re-accreditation is from FY2015 to the end of FY2019, and Dr. Suzuki expressed the intention to promote the development of world-class medical education in the medical fields which have been getting more complicated, sophisticated and internationalized, and to cultivate human resources that can play an active role in the world.

After the press conference, the University conducted a facility tour of MEDC and Skills-lab which is under the control of the center.
